Artie the Puppet
I taught myself how to construct felt-based hand & rod style puppets while at home during the pandemic. Chesapeake Arts Center happened to be in need of a social media mascot, and so commissioned me to create Artie (they/them). While Artie is a full-sized hand & rod style puppet (a la Jim Henson's Muppets), I also adapted Artie for use as a marionette-style puppet (manipulated with strings) so that they could be puppeteered against a green screen.
